On The Street - Woodstock Guitar Sculpture Exhibition
In October of 2010 when we reopened the Golden Notebook, we held a celebration over at the Kleinert/James Arts Center. A few of the many authors that live in our little town read from their current work. Among these was the always lovely and amazing MARTHA FRANKEL. Martha is a writer, teacher and the Executive Director of the Woodstock Writers Festival. She read a fantastic piece recalling her days as a sassy cocktail waitress in the glory days of the Woodstock's JOYOUS LAKE nightclub in the 1970s.
We got more than a little puddly in the eye when Martha brought over the guitar that she had designed for us last week and it was the story that she wrote for our opening night celebration. Thank you Martha!
The guitar is in front of the store now. Come by and read it. Maybe you will be the lucky person to have the winning bid on August 25.
